Marketing a Social Media Manager Business
There are a variety of advertising options and organic content that can be used to market your business: Facebook ads, posting on Instagram and Twitter, writing blogs and sharing them on my social profiles and posting consistently to Google My Business. Consistent posting keeps my brand at the top of the newsfeed.
In the monthly newsletter which I send to subscribers, I include special offers, my recent blog, and usually something humorous. Craigslist and Nextdoor (the neighborhood newsletter) are also excellent online forums to advertise your business. I teach online social media classes and often receive referrals from students. I’ve taught free social media classes to artists and writers and garnered business from it and I’ve volunteered on projects and also gained clients.
It’s up to you whether you want to run your own business or gain the necessary skills for this career and accept a full-time position with a company. This is a rewarding career for me in that I earn good money and I also have the freedom to take time off as needed. Being a social media manager has afforded me a healthy work/life balance.
