Enjoy Sundaes on Sunday with Jen’s Zen

February 22, 2013 (Boulder, CO) Delicious chocolate sundaes are on tap this year at Expo West 2013 in Anaheim, CA.  Meet Jennifer Lane, founder of Jen’s Zen, a Boulder-based manufacturer of decadent dessert toppings, and enjoy a delicious sample of coconut milk “ice cream” topped with Jen’s Zen chocolate fudge sauce. The classically rich fudge sauce is dairy and gluten-free and is based on Lane’s family recipe which uses coconut milk as a delicious base.

Lane says her recipe was one of many she created so she and her kids could enjoy rich foods despite their milk intolerance. “My son was born with a milk allergy and I didn’t want him to feel left out during parties and celebrations,” says Lane.[more…]

Thanks to Lane’s tireless grassroots efforts, her products are available in more than 40 stores including Whole Foods and Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage. Natural Foods Merchandiser highlighted Jen’s Zen chocolate sauce in their September 2012 issue, calling it “a cocoa rich sauce that could fool even the most discerning chocolate-loving palate into thinking it’s made with dairy.”  Increased exposure and the resultant growth allowed Jen’s Zen to hire Source Local, a Colorado natural products distributor, and continued growth is expected. “People simply love the rich taste of organic chocolate combined with creamy coconut milk,” sales Lane.

Lane is excited to serve Sundaes on Sunday with So Delicious Dairy Free, known for providing consumers with the broadest selection of delicious alternatives to dairy-based food and beverages. Sunday’s sundaes will be dairy-free, gluten-free and absolutely delicious. Meet Lane at So’s Booth 2650 on Sunday, March 10 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and arrive early for the sundae celebration.

In addition to Sunday’s celebration with Jen’s Zen and So Delicious, samples of all three varieties of Jen’s Zen sauces are available for tasting during Expo West show hours at Booth 5673. Jen’s Zen is sharing a booth with America’s Best Organics, who she’s partnered with in their nationwide gift basket program since 2011.

Lane began with one product and one size in 2011 and today offers three varieties and two sizes. Enjoy original chocolate sauce and newly introduced chocolate raspberry sauce and chocolate peppermint sauce. Customers love the ease of using the 9.6 oz. jars on ice cream, fruit, desserts, or by the spoonful. She recently introduced a food service size as chocolatiers, frozen dessert makers, and coffee shops are finding that dairy and non-dairy customers equally crave Jen’s decadent sauces.
