What’s Google Business Profile? Think of it like this: When you need to find someone to fix your refrigerator, you might open a Google search bar and type in “plumbers near me” to find someone, right? So, if you want your business to be found online, you want to have a Google Profile that includes the types of words your ideal client might type into the search engine to find you, your brand, product, service, etc.

The good news is that it’s free to use. The one challenge can sometimes be getting verified. When you create a profile, Google wants proof that you’re really a business owner, so they request verification in the form of a business license, a document showing your address, outside signage, etc. They want to be sure you exist because your business will appear on Google Maps and Google Search once you’re verified. Which is cool! Then people can find you!

Once you have it set up, you can post to it, similar to how you write a post on Facebook with captions, photos, links, etc. Google also provides analytics to let you know how your profile is doing and occasionally you’ll even receive some “advice” from Google when you log in to your profile.

Even if you work from a home office, as I do, you can have a presence on Google, as long as you can get verified!
