How Can you Find out Who Likes your Facebook Business Page?
Here’s a simple way to find out who likes your Facebook Business page. Why does who likes your business page matter? Because there are a zillion “fake fans” in cyberspace and they get in the way of your “real” fans seeing your content.
Facebook only allows a small percentage of your fans and followers to see your posts. Currently, only about 2% to 10% of your fans will see your posts on Facebook. If you want more people to see your posts, you’re practically forced to run an ad. It’s maddening to run an ad to reach the fans you’ve already worked so hard to get, but as a for-profit business, ads are how Facebook makes money.
Here’s the process for finding out who likes your Facebook Business page.
- Log in to the Facebook business page whose fans you want to view.
- Click “Settings” on the left side.
- Once in “Page Settings,” select “People and Other Pages.”
- The “People and Other Pages” dialog box appears.
- In this section, the default is “People Who Like This Page,” but if you click the drop-down arrow, you will see your other lists:
- People Who Follow This Page
- Pages That Like This Page
- Banned People and Pages
- People Blocked on Messenger
Once I have the Facebook Page Likes list open, I begin looking at the names one by one, simply by hovering over their name with my mouse. A profile box will appear and I can see how many friends they have, where they live, and a few other details. I consider it a red flag if they don’t have a profile photo if they don’t have any friends, if they live in another country and my client is only local, or if there seems anything unusual about their profile. To remove them, just click the square box to the left of their name and then scroll to the top of the page by the search bar and click the gear icon and you’ll see the option to “remove from page likes” or “ban from page” and I choose remove.
I once had a client buy 5,000 fake fans because he thought that it would look good on his new Facebook business page to have that many people following him! It took me forever to delete the fake names so that the real fans could read his posts. And it cost him much more money to hire me to delete the fake fans than the money he spent to buy them in the first place.
It’s important to know who likes your Facebook Business Page, so remember to never buy fake pans and instead, make authentic and sincere connections with your fans and followers. For more information, visit the Facebook help page here.
